TEHRAN: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the United States has been compelled to seek assistance from other countries, including China, to ensure the reopening and security of the Strait of Hormuz.
In this regard, Araghchi said that the United States’ security framework in the Middle East has weakened and now contains significant flaws.
The existing security arrangements, led by United States, are no longer effective in providing stability and are instead contributing to further complications in the region.
The Iranian foreign minister argued that regional countries should reconsider their reliance on Washington and its allies for security.
He urged countries in the Middle East to pursue independent regional cooperation and remove the presence of US and allied forces from the region.
Araghchi alleged that American policies in the Middle East are primarily focused on protecting the interests of Israel, rather than ensuring broader regional stability.
The strait connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and plays a vital role in international oil transportation.
Iran’s latest statement mention the deepening geopolitical tensions in the Gulf and underline the importance of diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.
