WASHINGTON: The United States has launched an investigation into a deadly strike that hit an elementary school in southern Iran during the opening days of the recent US-Israeli conflict with Iran.
Trump confirmed that the incident in the southern Iranian city of Minab is currently under official review.
The strike targeted an elementary school and resulted in multiple casualties, raising serious humanitarian and diplomatic concerns.
“That’s being investigated right now,” Trump said when asked about the incident. He added that the US administration would accept the findings once the inquiry is completed. “Whatever the report shows, I’m willing to live with that report,” the president stated.
The incident occurred during the initial phase of the escalating conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
“I don’t know enough about it,” Trump told reporters, while raising the possibility that Iran may have used a Tomahawk missile to hit the school itself.
However, he did not provide evidence to support that claim, and officials have not yet confirmed the source of the strike.
The investigation is expected to review intelligence reports, operational records, and available evidence from the site of the attack. Officials have indicated that the findings will play a crucial role in clarifying what happened during the early stages of the conflict.
