US Faces $3.7B cost in first 100 hours of war : CSIS Report

Washington: According to a report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the United States has incurred an estimated cost of approximately $3.7 billion in the first 100 hours of the war with Iran.

The CSIS report states that covering the expenses of this conflict would require the Department of Defense to secure additional funding beyond its current budget.

This is because the first 100 hours of the war against Iran have already resulted in roughly $3.7 billion in costs (equivalent to about $891 million per day).

CSIS notes that while shifting toward lower-cost munitions could reduce ammunition expenses, the overall costs of a war with Iran remain extremely high and were not accounted for in the existing defense budget.

The think tank emphasizes that at some point, the Department of Defense will need supplementary funds. Covering these conflict-related expenses through internal budget cuts would likely prove politically and practically difficult.
