WASHNGTON: The United States President Donald Trump has confirmed that a missing American military officer, whose aircraft crashed in Iran, has been successfully rescued in a high-risk operation.
In this regard, Trump said, “We got him! In the past few hours, the United States military carried out one of the most daring search and rescue operations in history and safely retrieved one of our key officers, a highly respected colonel.”
The officer went missing after his F-15 Eagle fighter jet crashed inside Iranian territory. He reportedly remained in hiding for nearly two days, evading detection by Iranian authorities.
The situation raised serious concerns in Washington, given the sensitive nature of US-Iran relations.
In this sense, there are certain unconfirmed reports suggest that Iranian authorities had also been attempting to locate the missing officer, which further increased the urgency and risk associated with the rescue effort. Despite these challenges, US forces were able to extract the officer successfully.
American officials have stated that the rescued officer has now been safely transferred out of Iran and is in secure condition. No official information has been released regarding injuries or the exact circumstances of the aircraft crash.
The situation continues to be closely monitored, as both regional stability and international diplomatic responses remain at stake.
