KALAT: The authorities in the Ghanche district have launched an investigation after an unidentified body was discovered. The body was found lying close to the roadside by passersby, who immediately informed local authorities.

In this regard, the victim had sustained gunshot wounds to the head, making identification difficult. Due to the severity of the injuries, the individual’s facial features were not recognizable, complicating early efforts to determine the victim’s identity, age, or background.

Furthermore, the body was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) for medico-legal procedures.

So far, the hospital authorities are expected to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause and time of death, as well as gather forensic evidence that may assist in the investigation.

In this sense, Police have stated that all necessary measures are being taken to establish the victim’s identity. However, the local stations have been notified of the discovery, and missing persons reports from the region are being reviewed.

Meanwhile, the officials focused on the fact that it is too early to draw conclusions, as the initial findings are still being analyzed. The area surrounding the scene is also being surveyed for surveillance footage or eyewitness accounts that may shed light on the events preceding the discovery.
