DUBAI: The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) attempted to shift IPL matches to Dubai, but faced rejection as the Emirates Cricket Board had already committed to hosting Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixtures.
According to sources, BCCI reached out just a day ago, only to learn that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had already finalized arrangements for PSL games in Dubai.
PCB had confirmed all details with the Emirates board on the night of May 8 and made a late-night announcement. As a result, India’s attempt to secure the Dubai venue failed, forcing IPL postponement for an indefinite period.
Indian media now suggests BCCI is eyeing a September window for the tournament, which could potentially clash with the Asia Cup.
