Two terrorists killed in Swabi joint operation by Police, CTD

PESHAWAR: Swabi Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) eliminated two wanted terrorists, “Fitna-ul-Khawarij” during an encounter in Swabi. The operation was launched following credible intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants in the mountainous region.

The police and CTD teams approached the hideout, and the terrorists opened fire. The security personnel retaliated effectively, resulting in the deaths of two militants, and two others managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Furthermore, the deceased were identified as Nauman alias Maneh, son of Makin Shah, and Abdul Basit, son of Talawat Shah, both residents of Malik Abad, Swabi.

Police said the men were active members of the TTP Syed-ul-Akbar group and were wanted for their involvement in several terrorist activities in the region.

They were also involved in hand grenade attacks on police check-posts and assaults on other police installations in Swabi district.

The police recovered a 125cc motorcycle, a Kalashnikov rifle, a hand grenade, a pistol, several rounds of ammunition, and other materials from the site. The police have intensified intelligence and surveillance efforts in nearby localities to prevent any retaliatory activity.

Moreover, District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi commended the professionalism and bravery displayed by the police and CTD teams during the operation.
