Mastung: Unknown armed assailants opened fire on a vehicle at Sorgaz Patak on Singer Road this afternoon, resulting in the death of two individuals, including a woman, while two others were injured.
According to details, the victims include Abdul Rasheed, son of Abdul Kareem, a resident of Khadkocha from the Shahwani tribe, and an unidentified woman who died on the spot.
A woman and a child were also injured in the attack and have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
According to Levies officials, the motive behind the killings is not yet known, but further investigation is underway by the Wali Khan Levies Force.
It is worth noting that just a day earlier, a well-known businessman, Aqib Shikari, was killed in a separate firing incident by unidentified gunmen.
In another incident in Naseerabad yesterday, unknown individuals hurled a hand grenade at laborers working at a construction site, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
Meanwhile, this morning, an attempt was made to blow up the Jaffar Express traveling from Quetta to Peshawar. The explosion caused a deep crater on the railway track, and six coaches were derailed.
