Two Coast Guards personnel martyred by unknown militants in Jiwani

GWADAR:  At least two Pakistan Coast Guards personnel were martyred on Sunday after unidentified armed men ambushed their patrol in the Panwan area of Jewani, located in the Gwadar district.

According to security sources, the incident occurred near the Panwan check post during Iftar time when the personnel were targeted with sudden and heavy fire. The attackers managed to flee the scene immediately after the assault, taking advantage of the surrounding terrain.

Following the attack, heavy contingents of security forces and law enforcement agencies swiftly arrived at the location. The entire area has been cordoned off, and a large-scale search operation has been launched to track down the perpetrators.

While initial reports confirm the martyrdom of two coast guardsmen, officials have yet to release an official statement or further details regarding the identities of the victims or the exact nature of the attack. The area falls within the vicinity of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route, which remains under high alert due to security concerns.
