QUETTA: Security forces have killed two senior commanders of banned militant outfits, the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), in separate intelligence-based operations along the Pakistan-Iran border, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
According to security sources, BLA commander Behroz, the deputy leader of the outfit’s Bahram Group, was killed during a covert operation in the border region. The group reportedly consists of around 30 militants, including a 10-member armed cell operating under Behroz’s direct command.
Authorities said the network had been involved in several cross-border terrorist attacks in Pakistan and routinely fled into Iranian territory after carrying out assaults. The operation, conducted on precise intelligence, targeted the group’s movement corridor used for infiltration and escape.
Security officials said anti-terror operations along the frontier will continue “without pause” to eliminate networks responsible for attacks on civilians and security personnel.
In a separate action, security forces neutralized Abdul Khaliq, also known by his alias Wado, a key commander of the BLF and the group’s financial coordinator overseeing drug-funded revenue streams.
Officials said Khaliq was residing in an Iranian border settlement and coordinated the BLF’s arms and narcotics supply chain. He was a close aide of senior BLF leaders Commander Abid alias Chakar and Asim alias Rehan.
Security sources stated that Khaliq’s death has dealt a “severe blow” to the BLF’s logistical and financial infrastructure.
Authorities reaffirmed that targeted operations will persist until militant safe havens and their funding networks along the border are completely dismantled.
A day earlier, the Indian proxy ‘Fitna-al-Hindustan’ suffered a severe blow during an operation conducted by security forces against terrorists in Kalat.
According to security sources, the forces launched an operation against the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in the Margand area of Kalat. So far, seven terrorists have been killed, while five others have been reported injured in the ongoing action.
