Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has openly declared his support for the people of Pakistan.
During a cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan expressed happiness over the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
He stated that Turkey had taken a clear stance on the terrorist attack in Kashmir and the missile strikes on Pakistan.
He further added that Turkey made tireless efforts to help reduce the dangerous tensions between the two countries.
“I had a significant conversation with my brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, over the phone and congratulated our Pakistani brothers for their patience and wise stance,” Erdoğan said.
The Turkish President reaffirmed that Turkey will stand with the Pakistani nation in both good and difficult times.
He also advised Pakistan not to fall into provocations, expressing hope that the peaceful environment created by the ceasefire will pave the way for resolving all issues, especially the water dispute.
It is worth noting that during the recent tensions with India, Turkey extended strong diplomatic, defense, and military support to Pakistan.

As the Indian Navy fleet advanced near Pakistan’s maritime borders, preparing to target the Karachi Port, the Turkish Navy joined hands with the Pakistan Navy to conduct round-the-clock surveillance of Pakistan’s territorial waters for 24 consecutive hours. As a result, the Indian Navy was forced to retreat, failing in its mission.
