ISLAMABAD: The Intelligence’s Bureau and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have arrested multiple operatives linked to the suicide attack at the Judicial Complex in the federal capital, sources said on Friday.
As per details, all four arrested in connection of the Islamabad blast at G-11 judicial complex are members of the banned TTP known as Fitna al-Khawarij.
Investigation revealed that TTP/Fitna al-Khawarij commander Saeed-ur-Rahman, alias “Dadullah,” directed the suicide attack via the Telegram app. His instructions were carried out by the bomber’s handler, Sajid-ur-Rahman, alias “Sheena,” who has confessed to the plot.
Dadullah, based in Afghanistan, serves as the intelligence chief of the TTP’s Bajaur and Kunar networks. He coordinated the attack to inflict maximum casualties on law enforcement agencies.
Sajid-ur-Rahman received bomber Usman, alias “Qari,” in Pakistan and arranged his stay near Islamabad. Qari belonged to the Shinwari tribe and hailed from Achin, Nangarhar, Afghanistan.
Following Dadullah’s orders, Sajid-ur-Rahman obtained a suicide jacket from Akhun Baba Cemetery, Peshawar, and delivered it to Islamabad. On the day of the attack, he fitted Qari with the explosive vest.
The TTP/Fitna al-Khawarij leadership in Afghanistan supervised the operation at every stage. Investigators have confirmed that the entire operational cell involved in the attack has now been apprehended, including the operational commander and three accomplices.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and further arrests and revelations are expected.
It is pertinent to mention here that the investigators have also identified the suicide bomber who carried out the attack outside the Islamabad Judicial Complex. Security sources said the attacker was an Afghan national.
