Trump’s Stunning Claim: India Was “About to Impose War” on Pakistan Again

Trump vows to resolve Pakistan-Afghanistan conflict ‘Very Quickly’

WASHINGTON: In a significant revelation, US President Donald Trump claimed that he single-handedly prevented a major war between India and Pakistan that was on the verge of reigniting. Mr. Trump made these comments during a conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House, as reported by international media.

While reflecting on his foreign policy achievements, President Trump stated he was “proud of having stopped eight major wars in the world.” He specifically cited his intervention in the long-standing tensions between India and Pakistan. “I stopped the war between Pakistan and India, and I also stopped the war between Pakistan and India that was about to start again,” he asserted.

Explaining his diplomatic approach, Trump indicated that he leveraged trade as a foundational element for conflict resolution. He expressed satisfaction that both nations are now “taking good steps” towards stability.

Shifting focus to other global hotspots, the former President also addressed the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe. He expressed hope that the war between Russia and Ukraine would conclude soon, though he admitted he had “no idea the Ukraine-Russia ceasefire would last so long.”

In the same wide-ranging discussion, President Trump turned to Middle Eastern diplomacy, confirming his readiness to re-engage with Iran on a nuclear deal. “Iran wants to make a deal, I am ready for it,” he told reporters, adding that preliminary talks with Tehran had already begun. This marks a potential shift in one of the most contentious aspects of US foreign policy.

Meanwhile in a significant diplomatic engagement, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, held a pivotal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on Wednesday.

The high-level discussion, which also involved delegations from other SCO member states, focused on enhancing bilateral relations and fostering regional economic cooperation. President Putin, who welcomed all the delegations, underscored the importance of the SCO as a crucial forum for promoting shared development, peace, and robust economic ties within the region. He asserted that the role of the organization is poised to become even more prominent in the future.
