Trump threatens Iran: We will open the Strait of Hormuz somehow, together with our allies

WASHINGTON: The United States President Donald Trump has said that the US will ensure the reopening and security of the Strait of Hormuz to protect global trade and energy shipments.

In his Truth Social, Trump said the United States would take necessary measures to keep the strategic waterway open and safe for international navigation.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most vital maritime routes, connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and serving as a key corridor for global oil transportation.

In this regard, Trump expressed hope that several countries would support efforts to maintain security in the region. He specifically mentioned China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom as nations that could potentially deploy naval vessels to help safeguard the waterway.

Many countries are willing to contribute naval forces to ensure that the Strait of Hormuz remains open and secure.

The president also stated that the United States would continue air operations against Iran during this period. He focused on that Iranian boats or warships would not be allowed to obstruct or interfere with navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump also addressed reports claiming that five US tanker aircraft had been destroyed in an Iranian strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

He rejected those reports, describing them as inaccurate.

Trump further explained that those four aircraft have already returned to operational service. The fifth aircraft, which suffered comparatively greater damage, is currently undergoing repairs and is expected to be restored to operational condition soon.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most strategically important maritime passages in the world.
