WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump said Cuba could be the next target of U.S. policy after Iran, according to media reports.
Trump made the remarks during a Saudi investment conference. He said the United States may shift its focus to Cuba following ongoing tensions with Iran.
He had made similar comments earlier during the Iran conflict, indicating that Cuba could be the next focus of U.S. action.
A Republican senator also backed Trump’s statement. He said countries under communist rule are facing increasing pressure.
The senator added that the United States would use all available options to protect its national interests.
