WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he will work alongside Pakistan and India to explore possible solutions to the long-standing Kashmir dispute, which has persisted for thousands of years.
In his recent remarks, Trump said the United States would enhance diplomatic cooperation with both countries and significantly expand trade relations with them.
He also mentioned that the U.S. played a key role in defusing recent tensions between Pakistan and India by bringing both nations to the negotiating table and facilitating a ceasefire agreement. Trump confirmed the ceasefire via a message on social media.
It is worth noting that in response to Indian aggression, Pakistan had successfully targeted over ten Indian sites under Operation “Bunyan Mursous,” which turned out to be a shocking surprise for India.
Trump’s statement comes at a time when the Kashmir issue is drawing global attention, with the United Nations and several countries making efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
It is worth mentioning that India used the Pahalgam incident as a pretext to launch aggression against Pakistan. After targeting several Pakistani cities with missiles and drones, India carried out nighttime missile attacks on three Pakistan Air Force bases.
In response, on the morning of May 10, Pakistan launched a retaliatory strike, destroying several Indian Air Force bases. India’s communication system was disabled, and its military installations suffered heavy damage.
