BOLAN: An emergency meeting of transporters was held under the chairmanship of Haji Mir Hikmat Lehri, the Provincial President of the All-Transporters Association Balochistan.
Transporters from across the province attended the session, where key decisions were made about the law-and-order situation including robbery incidents.
Addressing the participants, the provincial president alleged that the Kachhi and Naseerabad administrations are in collusion with bandits.
He said that last night, robbers set up a blockade at Kambri Bridge and looted passenger vans, while in the Naseerabad area of Notal, armed assailants opened direct fire on passenger coaches, leaving several drivers and passengers seriously injured.
He added that on one side the FC (Frontier Corps) imposes restrictions, while on the other, transporters are being attacked by bandits.
Areas like Kachhi, Balanari, and Notal have now become no-go zones, leaving transporters at the mercy of criminals.
He accused the Kachhi and Notal police of being more interested in collecting bribes than protecting citizens, despite knowing the names and hideouts of the culprits.
According to him, bandits openly set up checkpoints on the national highway in Notal, rob passengers, and then flee back to their safe havens in Balanari.
He announced that district presidents of the Transporters Association across Balochistan will be summoned within two days to decide the future course of action, which may include an indefinite blockade of the national highway at Kachhi.
It is worth mentioning that in the far and remote areas of Balochistan, the crime incidents have been taking place rather frequently.
The situation of the law-and-order is on the worth of chaos.
The robbers, the extortionists and the snap checkers carry out crimes without any reluctance.
The police and the law enforcement agencies are nowhere to be seen so people fear from the troublemakers all the time.
A strict patrolling of police is a much needed particularly or the remote areas of Balochistan.
