Thunderstorms, rain expected in parts of Balochistan

QUETTA: The Meteorological Department has forecast partly cloudy skies across most districts of Balochistan, with chances of rain and thunderstorms in some regions. According to the latest advisory, areas including Musakhel, Barkhan, Ziarat, Loralai, Sibi, Kalat and their surrounding localities are likely to witness strong winds accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Despite the forecast for rainfall in certain regions, temperatures across the province remained high. In Quetta, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius, while Kalat experienced slightly milder weather at 34 degrees. Ziarat saw a cooler day with temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius, whereas in Zhob, the mercury rose to 38 degrees.

Sibi continued to bake under extreme heat, recording the highest temperature of the day at 46 degrees Celsius. Turbat followed closely behind at 44 degrees. In western Balochistan, Nokkundi recorded a scorching 45 degrees, while Chaman stood at 40 degrees Celsius.

Coastal areas witnessed relatively moderate temperatures, with Gwadar recording a maximum of 36 degrees and Jiwani at 35 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens, particularly those living in areas expected to receive rainfall, to take necessary precautions as strong winds and lightning may cause temporary disruption in daily activities.
