The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms in several regions of the country, warning that unstable weather conditions may affect many districts in the coming days.
In this regard, particularly various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are likely to receive rain along with thunder and lightning. Similar weather conditions are also expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where further rainfall has been predicted.
In some areas, there is also a possibility of hailstorms, which could affect daily activities and traffic flow. The weather system is expected to bring intermittent showers that may continue over the next few days.
The Meteorological Department stated that Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Mianwali, Jhelum and Gujrat may receive rain during the forecast period. Additionally, Sargodha, Khushab, Murree, Galiyat and nearby areas are also expected to witness rainfall accompanied by cloudy weather.
Meanwhile, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Malakand are also expected to receive rain with thunderstorms. The department has further warned that hailstorms may occur in certain districts including Khyber, Waziristan, Mohmand, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda and Nowshera.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in Bannu, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat and Hangu. Residents in these areas have been advised to take precautionary measures, particularly in regions vulnerable to strong winds or sudden weather changes.
Meteorological experts say that the ongoing weather system is part of a broader pattern affecting northern and northwestern regions of the country. While rainfall is generally beneficial for agriculture and water resources, authorities have urged the public to stay informed about weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
The department will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates if the weather system intensifies or spreads to additional areas.
