Three killed, 22 injured as tractor plunges into ravine in Pishin

PISHIN: At least three people were killed and 22 others wounded when a speedy tractor plunged into ravine near Toba Achakzai in Balochistan’s Pishin district on Monday. Out of 22, six are in critical condition.

The accident occurred when a tractor’s brakes failed due to overspeeding, causing the vehicle to go out of control and plunge into a deep ravine.

The tractor was carrying several labourers returning from a work site. The impact of the crash was so severe that three workers died on the spot, while dozens sustained multiple injuries.

Levies Force personnel and local rescue teams quickly reached the site and shifted the deceased and injured to Pishin District Hospital. Hospital sources confirmed that six of the injured are in a life-threatening condition and are receiving intensive care.

Eyewitnesses said around 25 labourers were riding the tractor when the brakes failed. The driver reportedly made repeated attempts to stop the vehicle but was unable to regain control before it veered off the road.
