Three dead, several injured in two-bus collision on Makran Coastal Highway

QUETTA: At least three people were killed and several others sustained serious injuries when two passenger buses collided on the Makran Coastal Highway on Wednesday.

According to eyewitnesses, the tragic accident occurred due to irresponsible driving by the bus drivers. As a result, three people lost their lives and multiple passengers were seriously injured.

The police and rescue officials rushed to the scene to assist the injured in the tragic incident. Police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the crash.

It is worthy to be mentioned that 239 people were killed and 15,690 people were injured in a total of 12,110 road traffic accidents occurred across the Balochistan in first half of 2025.

According to a half-yearly report released by the Medical Emergency Response Center (MERC) 1122 Balochistan, it revealed that a sharp and alarming rise in fatal road accidents across Balochistan.

MERC report reveals that the N-25 highway near Winder alone witnessed 724 accidents, with 25 fatalities and 952 injuries. Other severely affected districts include Kalat, Mastung, Khuzdar, Pishin, Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Loralai, Surab, Jaffarabad, Noshki, Washuk, Kech, and Panjgur, where numerous fatal incidents were recorded.
