HARIPUR: The district administration of Haripur has announced three successive holidays for the By-Election in the NA-18 constituency of Haripur.
According to the details, local holidays from 22 to 24 November have been announced in Haripur in wake of By-Election in NA-18. All the government and the private educational institute will remain close during the local holidays.
According to the notification, the decision has been made in order to prevent any unwanted incident during the electoral activities.
The polling in NA-18 will be held on Sunday, 23rd November.
Moreover, PAK Army has been called for the polling in NA-18 Haripur keeping in view the law-and-order situation.
The decision was taken after the provocative statement given by the CM KP Sohail Afridi.
The sources have shared that the statement made by the CM led to a fear not only among the district administration and the ECP staff, but it also raised concerns for the voters in the constituency.
The CM KP had given a harsh statement in order to reveal his reservation about the rugging during the polling in NA-18.
However, the statement went down as a stern threat not only for the district officers but also for the staff of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The sources say that such statements could leave a horrible impact on the environment of peace and endurance during the polling.
Even small and ordinary disputes may erupt violence and unrest and raise security concerns in the area.
On the other hand, in the Winter-Zone of Balochistan, the government schools will remain close for two and a half months from December 16.
The winter vacation in Punjab will start from 23rd December 2025 to 11th January 2026. The schools in Punjab will reopen on 13th January 2026.
