ZEHRI: The security forces have successfully thwarted an attempt by members of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to escape from Zahri following a series of ongoing operations against the group.
In this regard, three BLA operatives were arrested while trying to flee the area disguised in women’s burqas. The suspects were detained during snap checking operations carried out at exit routes surrounding the town.
The arrests come amid intensified efforts by law enforcement agencies to restore peace and stability in the region.
Furthermore, the government officials confirmed that the suspects were part of a network attempting to evade capture after sustained security actions disrupted several of the group’s hideouts in the area.
The individuals are currently under investigation, and officials said that further arrests are expected as intelligence-based operations continue.
Meanwhile, the local residents, while commending the security forces for their vigilance, expressed concern over the tactics used by the militants.
They noted that the BLA has a history of employing deceptive measures to avoid detection, including using women as human shields or disguising themselves in women’s clothing to escape security checks.
Moreover, the government personnel reasserted their commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring that those involved in subversive activities are brought to justice.
