There is no testing of Hypersonic missile in Balochistan, Defence Minister

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif declined to directly respond to a question regarding reports of a possible hypersonic ballistic missile test by Pakistan. He also mentioned that such news can’t be mentioned publicly.

In this regard, he was also saying, “Now don’t ask all these questions, ask such things in private,” the minister said during an interview on Samaa TV’s talk show Mere Sawal.

In this sense, he was responding to a question about whether Pakistan had conducted a test of a hypersonic missile earlier this week.

Furthermore, the query followed widespread speculation on social media after residents of Quetta and nearby areas observed a mysterious “lenticular cloud formation” in the early hours of Tuesday.

The unusual sight prompted debate online, with some users suggesting it could be linked to a secret missile test or advanced military technology.

Moreover, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) later clarified that the spectacle was a natural atmospheric phenomenon.

The department stated that the sighting over the Koh-i-Murdar mountain range was a lenticular cloud formation that appeared before sunrise, lasted around 20 minutes, and dissipated shortly afterward.

However, as per the United Kingdom’s Met Office, lenticular clouds are often mistaken for unidentified flying objects (UFOs) because of their disc-like appearance.

They form when strong winds pass over elevated terrain, causing air to rise, cool, and condense into distinctive, smooth-edged clouds.

“These strange, saucer-shaped clouds sometimes appear downwind of mountains and are one of the most common natural explanations for UFO sightings,” the Met Office notes.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Afghanistan are engaged in cross-border combat at all fronts of Western border. In addition, a day ago, the Taliban spokesperson has issued an illogical remarks against Pakistan.

So far, in reaction, Pakistan has rejected the misleading statement by Afghanistan spokesperson

The government has neither confirmed nor denied conducting any missile-related tests, the incident has once again mentioned the sensitivity surrounding Pakistan’s defense developments and the public’s fascination with unexplained aerial events.
