There is no petrol shortage in Quetta, Balochistan government

QUETTA: The Balochistan government spokesperson dismissed rumors of a petrol crisis in Quetta, stating that such misinformation is being spread by elements involved in the smuggling of Iranian petrol.

He emphasized that these smuggled Iranian petrol pumps pose serious security risks and are often responsible for accidents.

According to the spokesperson, in the past month alone, 28 incidents have occurred at illegal Iranian petrol pumps, resulting in financial losses worth millions for the public.

Such incidents have taken place in various locations, including Airport Road and Hazarganji.

The government is continuing strict action against the smuggling and illegal sale of Iranian petrol.

The spokesperson further stated that the perception of a petrol shortage is a deliberate attempt by smugglers to pressure the government into allowing the use of Iranian fuel.

Petrol pumps are being strictly directed to ensure the supply of legal petrol.

Authorities are also inspecting fuel storage facilities to make sure only licensed fuel is being provided.

Citizens have been advised to report any complaints regarding the non-availability of legal petrol to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Quetta.
