LAHORE: The 10-month-old daughter of former Pakistan Test cricketer Mohammad Khalil died after suffering an electric shock while playing at home, the former fast bowler confirmed on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred while Khalil was in the United States to play league cricket. He is returning to Pakistan after receiving news of his daughter’s death.

Mohammad Khalil is a former left-arm medium-fast bowler who represented Pakistan in Test cricket.
He earned a surprise call-up to Pakistan’s squad for the 2003-04 home Test series against Bangladesh after playing only six first-class matches. He claimed 14 wickets in three first-class games during the preceding domestic season, attracting the attention of national selectors.
Although he did not make his debut against Bangladesh, Khalil played his first Test against Australia in December 2004.
He failed to take a wicket in his first two Test matches and was subsequently dropped from the national side.
Khalil revived his career with an impressive performance in the 2010-11 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. His domestic form earned him a recall to Pakistan’s squad for the 2011-12 tour of Bangladesh as a replacement for injured fast bowler Junaid Khan.
