Teachers end boycott after CM Bugti’s assurance on education reforms

QUETTA: Balochistan’s provincial ministers have said that the government is continuing education reforms to secure the nation’s future. On the Chief Minister’s request, teachers have ended their boycott of exams. Officials pledged to resolve issues in collaboration with teachers.

Education Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar addressed a press conference. They were joined by Professor and Lecturers Association President Abdul Quddus Kakar. The ministers confirmed that the Teachers Association ended its boycott after the Chief Minister’s appeal.

The ministers appreciated the teachers’ decision to end the protests for the students’ sake. They reaffirmed their commitment to solving education-related challenges with the teaching community.

President Abdul Quddus Kakar stated that a government committee addressed the teachers’ concerns. He said they met Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and acknowledged his special focus on education.

“CM Balochistan is introducing new reforms in education,” Kakar said. “Reforms are also being introduced in the Balochistan Board Office. In this context, teachers are ending their protest.”

He added that the Chief Minister requested six months to implement the reforms. “We hope positive results will follow,” he said.
