Tarar, DG ISPR to brief political leaders on current national security situation

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and DG ISPR General Ahmed Sharif will brief the leaders of all major political parties on the current national security situation to the political leadership of all political parties today (Sunday).

The political leadership will be briefed on the current national security situation between Pakistan and India and its implications in the wake Pahalgam attack and India’s war mongering policies to destablise the peace of South Asia.

The participants will be informed about the defense preparations of the Pakistani army, diplomatic measures and the state stance. In the current situation, this briefing is a high example of national solidarity and unity and consensus.

Earlier, on April 22 at least 26 tourists were killed and 20 others were injured in an attack in Pahalgam area of Indian occupied Kashmir. After the attack Indian government started blaming Pakistan for the attack and linking it with cross-border activities, as they did in the past to blame Pakistan for its own failure.

Later the Modi-led Indian government had unilaterally suspended the Indus Water Treaty and also ordered the Pakistani citizens in India to leave the country after canceling the visas.

The political and military leaderships have rejected the Indian accusations and offer to investigate the incident through UN or any other impartial body but still Pakistan didn’t receive the reply from New Delhi in this regard.
