T20 World Cup: Weather Forecast Ahead of Pakistan vs England Clash

COLOMBO: Pakistan will take on England today in a key Super 8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. local time in Kandy.

Forecasts indicate mostly clear skies, with temperatures around 27°C and a real-feel of 28°C. Humidity is high at 68 percent, which could make conditions feel hotter both indoors and outdoors. Light northwesterly winds will blow at 6 km/h, with occasional gusts reaching 13 km/h. Only 14 percent cloud cover is expected. Air pollution may pose issues for people with respiratory conditions.

The match follows Pakistan’s previous Super 8 fixture against New Zealand, which was interrupted by rain at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha had won the toss and elected to bat, but over two hours of continuous rain forced the game to be abandoned, with both teams awarded one point.

In the Super 8 stage, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for March 4 and 5. Pakistan will play all its matches in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan advances to the semi-final, the first match will be held at R. Premadasa Stadium; otherwise, it will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The final is set for March 8, with the venue depending on Pakistan’s tournament performance.

Pakistan Squad: Salman Ali Agha (c), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Nafees, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saem Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, Usman Tariq.

England Squad: Harry Brook (c), Rehan Ahmed, Jofra Archer, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Josh Tong, Luke Wood.
