Bhakkar: A suicide bombing occurred at the inter-provincial check post in Dajal, within the jurisdiction of PS Sadar Bhakkar, early Tuesday morning at around 6:54 AM, resulting in the martyrdom of two police officials and injuries to several others.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Bhakkar, the blast targeted security personnel stationed at the check post.
The martyred police officials have been identified as Constable Shahbaz (No. 1058/C) and Constable Fahim (No. C/324). Another police official, Constable Arshad (No. 312/C), sustained injuries in the attack.
Three civilians were also injured, including polio workers Ajab Ali and Zubair, along with a private Hiace driver, Mohammad Husnain.
All injured persons were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bhakkar for medical treatment.
Security forces cordoned off the area and an investigation into the incident is underway.
