12 Killed, 22 Injured as Suicide Bomber Stopped at Mosque Gate

Breaking: Sucide Blast at Islamabad Imambargah Leaves Multiple Injured

ISLAMABAD: At least 12 people were killed and 22 others wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up after being stopped at the main gate of a Mosque at the Tralai Rawalpindi, officials said.

According to initial reports, the bomber attempted to enter the Mosque during Jumma prayers. Security forces at the main door noticed him in advance and tried to stop him. The bomber detonated the device when he failed to enter the main hall. Security personnel attempted to stop him, but he detonated the device.

Police and rescue teams immediately responded to the scene. No official death toll has been released yet, and authorities are assessing the situation.

Islamabad’s Inspector General declared an emergency in the city following the blast. The attack took place at Qasr-e-Khadija Al-Taqleen, the location of the Tralahi Mosque.

The dead and injured were taken to PIMS, CDA Hospital, and Polyclinic, where a state of emergency was declared.

According to initial reports, the suicide bomber was affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij.

According to the authories of the PIMS hospital, 11 dead bodies have so far been brought to the hospital.

The security forces and law enforcement agencies have cordened off the area and started collecting evidnece and search operation in the area.

Talal Chaudhry Visits PIMS

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry visited PIMS Hospital on the instructions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, officials said.

Chaudhry met patients injured in the blast and inquired about their condition. He spoke to doctors and hospital staff during the visit.

He directed authorities to ensure special medical care for the injured. He said the government remains fully committed to providing all possible treatment to the victims.

Officials said medical teams are continuing treatment, while authorities monitor the situation closely.
