BANNU : A suicide bomber rammed a vehicle packed with explosives into the gate of Domail Police Station in Bannu on Friday night, killing five people and injuring 18 others, authorities said.
According to Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan, the powerful explosion also damaged houses located near the police station. The blast was so intense that it shattered windows and caused structural damage to several adjacent buildings.
The dead included three women, one man, and a child, police confirmed. The injured and deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and identification.
Security forces cordoned off the area immediately after the attack. A search operation is underway to apprehend any accomplices involved in the planning or execution of the suicide bombing.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
