ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts have successfully led to a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
Following the announcement of a two-week truce, the first cargo ship has passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
US President Donald Trump had set the reopening of the Strait as a key condition for the ceasefire.
While experts note that full confidence will take time to rebuild, more vessels are expected to resume passage in the coming days.
Iran has stated that the points under discussion align with its 10-point plan, which includes ending regional wars and providing political and economic guarantees.
Direct talks between the US and Iran are scheduled to be held in Islamabad on April 10.
Pakistan’s mediation has been widely credited for bringing the two sides to agree to pause hostilities.
