PESHAWAR; Peshawar Zalmi and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will stage a charity cricket match at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar on August 30 to raise funds for flood victims in the province.
Pakistan’s current and former cricket stars will feature in the exhibition game. Zalmi skipper Babar Azam will lead the lineup alongside former captains Shahid Afridi, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Hafeez, and Rashid Latif. Their participation has already stirred excitement among fans.
The roster also includes Azhar Mahmood, Saeed Ajmal, Sohaib Maqsood, Yasir Shah, Umaid Asif, Azhar Ali, Imran Farhat, Humayun Farhat, Ihsanullah, Yasir Hameed, Kamran Ghulam, Abdur Rehman, Mohammad Irfan, Muaz Sadaqat, Zulfiqar Babar, and Mohammad Salman.
Organizers have set the ticket price at PKR 1,000, with all proceeds dedicated to flood relief efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Peshawar Zalmi Chairman Javed Afridi said the franchise and Pakistani cricketers stood firmly with the people of the province in their time of need. “The cricket community will play its full role in providing relief to our brothers and sisters affected by the floods,” he said.
