QUETTA: Pakistani badminton player Sarwat Fatima, who won a silver medal at the South Asian Regional Badminton Championship 2025, arrived in Quetta on Tuesday.
At the airport, Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs in Balochistan, Durra Baloch, and Director General of Sports, Yasar Bazi, received her warmly. They presented her with flower garlands and bouquets. They congratulated her on winning silver for Pakistan and praised her as the pride of the province and the country.
Officials said Sarwat once again made the nation proud by winning a medal at the international level. They assured her of full support for future competitions and extended their best wishes.
The mega tournament featured athletes from four nations, including Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. A total of 61 athletes competed in different categories.
Assistant Director Admin Moheebur Rehman, President of the Balochistan Volleyball Association Bilal Ashraf, and Finance Secretary of the Balochistan Hockey Association Sharafat Butt were also present.
Sarwat Fatima’s family, including her parents and siblings, welcomed her at the airport as well.
