CM Bugti warns social media propaganda misleading Balochistan’s youth

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti warned that social media propaganda is misleading the youth and stressed that addressing it is essential.

Speaking during an interaction with students, Bugti said Balochistan’s youth have no shortage of talent but have long suffered from a lack of opportunities. He said his government has introduced the province’s first youth policy to provide quality education, skills, and employment.

“The youth are the nation’s future, and the government is working sincerely to protect them from negative propaganda,” Bugti said. He urged students to distinguish between truth and lies and expose the designs of anti-state elements.

The chief minister said the government has created the province’s first Women Endowment Fund to promote women’s economic stability and development. He stressed that no society can progress without women’s participation, adding that for the first time women now hold key administrative positions in Balochistan.

Bugti said the provincial administration has eliminated unnecessary posts in government departments and introduced reforms in education and health. He said the government reactivated 3,200 inactive schools in one year and pledged that no school would remain closed by December. He added that authorities have completed the merit-based recruitment of 16,000 teachers.

The chief minister said unbalanced development is a national challenge, not just Balochistan’s. However, he made clear that taking up arms against the state is unacceptable. He reiterated his government’s readiness for dialogue but said those with blood on their hands would face the law.

Bugti said it is vital to educate young people about Balochistan’s history so they can assess facts and make informed choices. He reminded that the government had promised to end road blockages in the province and said this commitment has been fulfilled.
