Six more Nushki oil tanker victims die in Karachi

KARACHI: Six more injured in the Nushki  oil tanker tragedy have died in Karachi, confirmed Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind.

Five victims passed away last night at Liaquat National Hospital. The sixth, Tanveer, died early this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Abdul Basit, Mustafa, Dar Muhammad, Salman, Uzair, and Tanveer.

Shahid Rind expressed sorrow on behalf of the Balochistan government. He said the government stands with the grieving families.

Authorities are transporting the bodies to Nushki in phases. Ambulances, including two from Edhi Foundation, have been sent.

The Undersecretary of Health from Balochistan is also traveling with the convoy.

The Balochistan government has extended condolences and promised full support to the affected families.

It is worthy to be mentioned here, last week the deadly Nushki oil tanker incident occurred when a powerful explosion inside an oil tanker sparked a massive fire.

The flames spread rapidly after the explosion and engulfed nearby areas, injuring dozens of people. Most of the injured sustained critical burns and some of the critical injured were shifted to Karachi for treatment care.

The rescue teams had rushed to the site immediately after the explosion and started a firefighting and evacuation operation. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
