Six Levies personnel suspended in Kachhi over fake promotions

QUETTA: The Balochistan Levies suspended six personnel from district Kachhi after reports emerged of their “fake promotions” within the force.

Director General of Levies Force Abdul Ghaffar Magsi immediately took notice of the issue, ordered swift action, and launched an inquiry into the alleged illegal promotions.

According to an official notification, the suspended constables — Ali Hussain, Muhammad Anwar, Wali Dad, Muhammad Jafar, Maheem Khan, and Liaquat Ali — all serving in BPS-7, were suspended under the Balochistan Levies Force Disciplinary Rules, 2015.

DG Magsi appointed Director (Operations) Shah Nawaz as the inquiry officer and instructed him to submit a detailed report within four days. He also directed the Kachhi deputy commissioner to ensure that both the suspended personnel and the complainants appear before the inquiry officer.

DG Magsi reaffirmed that the Levies Force maintains a disciplined and professional structure and will not tolerate any irregularities or unlawful acts. He warned that those involved in fake or unauthorised promotions would face strict legal action to preserve transparency, discipline, and merit within the force.

A day earlier, a directive from the Balochistan government to integrate the provincial Levies Force into the police has been met with significant opposition, triggering large-scale demonstrations across the province.

In the city of Qalat, personnel and officers from the force organised a major protest rally to voice their strong dissent against the controversial merger. The demonstration commenced at the Levies Headquarters and proceeded along several central arteries, including Shahri Bazaar, Hospital Road, and Darbar Road, before concluding at its origin.
