Sisi urges Trump to intervene to halt Middle East conflict, warns of global energy crisis

CAIRO: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has called on the United States President Donald Trump to play a decisive role in ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

President Sisi emphasized that the United States holds a unique position in influencing developments in the Gulf region and is capable of halting the escalation.

He urged immediate intervention, stating that no other global actor possesses the same level of influence to bring the conflict to an end.

Sisi mentioned the urgent need to resolve the crisis in the interest of humanity and global peace. He stressed that prolonged instability in the region would have far-reaching consequences beyond the Middle East.

The Egyptian president also raised concerns over the potential disruption of global oil supplies. He warned that if the conflict continues, oil prices could surge dramatically, potentially exceeding $200 per barrel.

Sisi pointed to attacks on energy infrastructure as a major source of concern. He stated that targeting such facilities poses a serious threat not only to regional security but also to global energy stability.

Sisi also condemned recent Iranian attacks, underscoring that military escalation would only deepen the crisis. He reasserted that the use of force is not a sustainable solution and called for renewed diplomatic efforts to address underlying tensions.

The Egyptian leader urged all parties involved in the conflict to exercise restraint and prioritize dialogue over confrontation.
