Sindh Police Put on high alert after Islamabad suicide attack

KARACHI: Following the suicide bombing outside the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad’s G-11 area, Sindh’s Interior Minister, Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar, has directed all police forces across the province to remain on high alert until further notice.

According to a statement issued by the Sindh Home Department on Tuesday, the minister ordered enhanced checking and monitoring at all entry and exit points of the province, as well as on major roads and highways.

It is important to recall that the attack outside the Islamabad District and Sessions Court on Tuesday claimed at least 12 lives and left more than two dozen people injured.

In light of the capital’s suicide blast, the Sindh home minister also instructed authorities to review and strengthen the security plans for major upcoming events in the coming days and months.

It is worth noting that earlier today, a suicide blast targeting a police vehicle outside the District Court in Islamabad’s G-11 area resulted in the deaths of 12 people and injuries to 27 others.
