KARACHI: The Sindh government has granted written permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a public rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah ground in Karachi. The approval was issued following a formal request submitted by the party.
In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner East issued the written permission, allowing PTI to set up its rally venue at Bagh-e-Jinnah on Sunday. The decision comes amid ongoing political activity across the country, as major political parties continue to organize public gatherings to mobilize supporters.
Furthermore, Senior Sindh Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sharjeel Inam Memon, confirmed the development in an official statement.
He stated that PTI’s rally will take place on Sunday at Bagh-e-Jinnah ground and that the No Objection Certificate (NOC) has been issued with specific conditions to ensure public safety and order.
Moreover, the organizers will be fully responsible for maintaining law and order during the event. The authorities have clearly stated that any form of provocative speeches, hate material, or sectarian content will not be permitted during the rally.
Meanwhile, Sharjeel Memon focused on that the administration expects full cooperation from the rally organizers to ensure that the event remains peaceful and within legal boundaries.
He added that maintaining smooth traffic flow in the surrounding areas will also be the responsibility of the PTI organizers, so that daily life in the city is not disrupted.
Meanwhile, the information minister further stated that the rally must conclude within the specified time mentioned in the NOC. He warned that the district administration retains the authority to cancel the permission at any point due to security concerns or violation of the agreed conditions.
The upcoming PTI gathering is expected to draw a vital number of supporters, making the enforcement of these conditions crucial for maintaining peace and stability in the city.
