SIBI: Authorities have finalized a comprehensive security and administrative plan for the three-day annual Tablighi Ijtima, scheduled to be held from December 18 to 21. The decision was made in a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sibi Major Ilyas Kabzai to ensure foolproof arrangements for the major religious gathering, which will see the arrival of faithful from across the country.
The meeting was attended by a contingent of senior officials, including Colonel Shahryar, SSP Sibi Shah Nawaz Chachar, Assistant Commissioner Bakhtiarabad Malik Bahadur Khan Bangulzai, and officers from various law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The discussions focused on managing the security and logistical challenges posed by the large influx of participants.
Addressing the meeting, DC Major Ilyas Kabzai outlined the key measures. Personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC), police, and Levies Force will be deployed to perform security duties. Strict checking will be established on all entry and exit routes of the city, with participants directed to use only designated routes to access the Ijtima grounds. The police and traffic departments will formulate a detailed route plan to manage the flow of vehicles and people, and a control room will be established for coordinated command.
In addition to security, essential services have been arranged. The Health Department will set up medical camps and provide ambulance facilities, while the Municipal Committee’s fire brigade will be on standby throughout the event. The Ijtima will conclude on the morning of December 21 with a collective prayer. Following this, the DC stated that no one will be permitted to picnic or spend the night in the Bolan area, and all participants will be required to depart for their destinations immediately.
In a separate move , Inspector General (IG) of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, has declared that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the paramount mission of the police force. To fulfill this commitment, the police have launched a series of effective and coordinated operations against criminal elements across all ranges of the province, yielding significant results over the past week.
