QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has taken a major administrative decision by officially declaring all revenue areas of the Sibi and Loralai divisions as A-Areas.
As a result, complete responsibility for maintaining law and order in these regions will now be handed over to the Balochistan Police.
According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Home Department, the decision has been taken under the Balochistan Police Act 2011 and the Balochistan Levies Force Act 2025, following approval from the provincial cabinet.
The notification states that all serving provincial and former federal Levies personnel deployed in the Sibi and Loralai divisions, including those from the CPEC Wing, have been merged into the Balochistan Police while retaining their existing ranks, salaries, service structures, and benefits.
Furthermore, all assets and resources associated with the Levies Force including budget allocations, weapons and ammunition, pickets, checkpoints, official vehicles, records, investigative responsibilities, training institutions, and other infrastructure will be immediately transferred to the Balochistan Police.
The notification also authorizes the Superintendents of Police in the concerned districts to provide police personnel to district administrations and other government departments for the enforcement of local and special laws.
The government has directed the Commissioners of Sibi and Loralai to complete the entire transfer process within 30 days of the issuance of the notification.
