SHO shot dead in Kharan by unknown assailants

Muhammad Qasim, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kharan city, was martyred in a brutal armed attack while on duty Wednesday.

QUETTA: Muhammad Qasim, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kharan city, was martyred in a brutal armed attack while on duty Wednesday.

The tragic incident occurred when SHO Qsiam was performing his official duties, searching vehicles at a checkpoint set up in front of a hospital on Quetta Road.

According to police officials, armed assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on the officer. The attack was so severe that SHO Qasim was killed instantly on the spot. Fortunately, other police personnel present at the scene were unharmed in the firing.

Following the attack, the body of the martyred officer was shifted to Civial Kharan for legal formalities.

In response, a large-scale operation has been launched. Police and Frontier Corps (FC) forces have cordoned off the area and have begun an intensive search to apprehend the culprits behind this targeted killing.

In a shock revelation, a televised report suggests that an FC personnel was shot-killed by some unknown assailants in Surab.

The FC men were returning from their duty of providing the polio workers with the security during the vaccination campaign.

Some unknown attackers were spying at the security persons and they shot-killed one of the FC men.

The attackers fled away after carrying out the murder and the police team arrived immediately after the incident.

The body of the assassinated security personnel was shifted to the hospital and the police team launched a search operation after the whole area was cordoned off.

The sources claim that the attack may have been carried out by the Fitna al Hindustan militant group BLA.

The Indian-sponsored militant group BLA has been launching attacks not only on the security personnel but also on the innocent civilians as well as the development infrastructure.
