Shahid Rind: Balochistan cabinet approves activation of inactive hospitals

QUETTA: Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind, has said that several important decision related to the overall development of the Balochistan were taken in the provincial cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

While talking to media person after the cabinet meeting, he said that the provincial cabinet was held at the Chief Minister Secretariat under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti.

Shahid Rind, informed the media that the cabinet has approved the reactivation of inactive hospitals of the Health Department in different areas of the province with the help of the army, so that citizens can get basic medical facilities at their doorsteps.

Rind said that the cabinet also given approval to provide agricultural tractors to farmers at a 50 percent subsidy, while in light of the Supreme Court’s decision, the upgrading of trend crop reporters of the Agriculture Department from Grade 6 to Grade 11 was also approved.

A high-level committee comprising the Finance Secretary and the Energy Secretary was formed to conduct a technical and financial review of 150 KW solar projects in the hub. The establishment of the Balochistan Mineral Development Fund was also approved to promote transparency and investment in the mineral sector.

Rind further said that the cabinet approved the Balochistan Contribution Pension Scheme Rules 2025 to establish a sustainable pension system for government employees, while it was also decided to make the laptop policy more effective to promote digital education.

The meeting approved recruitment to vacant posts in all departments, including Sports and Youth Affairs, so that better employment opportunities could be provided to the youth.

Regarding the law and order situation, Rind said that the cabinet approved the establishment of two new police stations in Kohlu, additional security for Mangi Dam, establishment of CTD police stations in Rakhni and Barkhan, and change in CTD limits in Loralai and Sibi.

While approving amendments to the Arms License Rules, free exemption has been abolished, while a coordinated policy for the security of ministers, advisors and members of the assembly has also been approved.

The meeting decided to take back 20 acres of land leased to a private medical institute at the request of the federal government. The appointment of Kiran Baloch as the Chairperson of the Balochistan Commission on the Status of Women was approved for the promotion of women’s rights.

Adjustment of intern teachers of Makran and Kech for progress in the education sector, proposed rules of the Excise and Taxation Department, and Journalists Welfare Amendment Rules for the welfare of journalists were also approved.

The government spokesperson said that all these decisions reflect the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, which is focused on establishing an empowered, secure, developed and people-friendly Balochistan, and the fruits of these decisions will soon start reaching the people.
