LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars have imposed a fine of Rs1 million on their captain Shaheen Afridi for breaching the team’s security protocol.
According to a statement issued by the franchise, an internal investigation was conducted into the incident, which occurred at the team hotel.
The club clarified that the matter was exaggerated and presented inaccurately in the media.
Lahore Qalandars stated that the incident was the result of a misunderstanding rather than any deliberate violation.
The fine was imposed in the interest of accountability and maintaining discipline within the team.
The franchise reiterated that it fully respects and adheres to all security protocols.
It is worth noting that the incident reportedly involved Shaheen Afridi taking guests of teammate Sikandar Raza into the players’ area despite being advised against it by the security team.
