Shabir Baloch slams BLA and Indian Involvement

ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a proscribed militant organization, has played a highly destabilizing role in Balochistan for over two decades. The group, which claims to fight for the independence of Balochistan, has been widely condemned for its involvement in terrorist activities, including attacks on civilians, security forces, and development projects.

Furthermore, a few intelligence reports and public statements by security officials suggest that the BLA continues to receive external support from India aimed at undermining Pakistan’s sovereignty and internal peace.

In this sense, such an accusation has been consistently directed at India. Additionally, political analysts and government representatives allege that India has established a widespread covert network, operating not only in neighboring countries but globally, to pursue its strategic interests through non-state actors.

These claims gained fresh traction following remarks by political activist Shabbir Baloch. The state’s response has involved intensified counterterrorism operations in Balochistan, targeting not only BLA hideouts but also its financial and logistical infrastructure.

However, various experts focus on that military measures are necessary; the long-term solution to Balochistan’s unrest must also involve political dialogue, socio-economic uplift, and addressing local grievances.
