Several events conclude in ongoing first-ever Balochistan Women Games

QUETTA: Several games at the first-ever Balochistan Women Games 2025 in Quetta were concluded with great enthusiasm. Various sports competitions reached their finale, showcasing the talent of young female athletes from across the city.

The final events included badminton, kickboxing, table tennis, volleyball, gymnastics, and fencing. Local women athletes participated with full energy and spirit. The concluding ceremony was marked by passion and excitement.

Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majeed Baloch, attended the event as the chief guest. She was accompanied by Sports Secretary Durra Baloch and Director General of Sports Yasir Bazai.

Speaking to sports journalists, Meena Majeed said the main aim of such events is to uncover the hidden talent of women. “We want them to shine and contribute to the success and prosperity of Balochistan,” she said. She confirmed that similar events will continue to ensure equal opportunities for women in sports.

Sports Secretary Durra Baloch said the initiative aligns with the Chief Minister’s vision. “Under the advisor’s guidance, a new era of mega sports events has begun, and it will not stop now,” he added. He assured that young people across the province will get all possible facilities and platforms to showcase their skills at the national level.

Director General of Sports Yasir Bazai said that athletes are the pride of the nation. “There’s no shortage of talent among Balochistan’s women. They just need opportunities and support,” he stated. He added that the department is seriously working to provide those.

The Women’s Games will continue until May 31, featuring additional competitions and providing more players with the opportunity to perform.

The All Balochistan Women Games are being hailed as a major step toward promoting sports, encouraging women’s participation, and projecting a positive image of Balochistan.

At the end of the ceremony, Meena Majeed, along with Durra Baloch and Yasir Bazai, distributed medals among the winning athletes and praised their performances.
