SWABI: Several accidents in Punjab and KP cause deaths in KP.
At least two people lost their lives and seventeen others were injured in a tragic collision between a passenger coach and a bus in Swabi.
According to Rescue 1122, the passenger coach was traveling from Batkhela to Islamabad Airport when it met with the accident near Shiva Adda Chowk.
The spokesperson, Luqman Khan, confirmed that the deceased included a child and the driver of the coach, while several of the injured were in critical condition.
All injured passengers and the bodies were shifted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex.
Authorities also revealed that all the passengers on board belonged to the same family.
Meanwhile, several other deadly road accidents were reported from different parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early in the morning, claiming eight more lives.
In Sialkot, two speeding cars reportedly crashed into a rickshaw on Badiana Road, killing three people on the spot, including two brothers and their cousin.
Eyewitnesses stated that the cars were racing each other at the time of the collision, and the drivers fled the scene after the incident.
In another tragic accident on the Tangi Bypass in Charsadda, a school van collided with a truck, resulting in the death of two students and injuries to twenty-four others.
Separately, a passenger bus and a truck collided on the M.M. Road in Bhakkar, leaving two people dead and nine injured.
Road accidents in Pakistan remain a serious public safety concern, claiming thousands of lives every year.
The major causes include over-speeding, reckless driving, poor road infrastructure, mechanical faults, and weak enforcement of traffic laws.
Motorcyclists, pedestrians, and public transport passengers are among the most vulnerable.
Despite the efforts of emergency services and awareness campaigns, the rising number of accidents highlights the urgent need for stricter traffic regulations, better road safety education, and improved transport systems.
