ISLAMABAD: The Senate has passed a resolution strongly condemning the brutal incident in Balochistan, where a man and a woman were unlawfully executed in public based on a jirga decision.
The resolution, presented by Senator Sherry Rehman, stated that the public killing of the man and woman under an illegal jirga order is a blatant violation of the Constitution and the law.
It emphasized that no murder committed under the pretext of tribal customs, cultural traditions, or so-called honor can be justified or pardoned.
Such acts are unacceptable, and strict legal action must be taken. The resolution called for all those involved in the incident to be brought to justice.
To recall, on June 4 in the Degari area of Balochistan, a man and a woman were shot dead in front of a group of tribesmen.
They were accused of being in a relationship. It was reported that the woman was a mother of five and the man was a father of six.
